KNETCO and Skyports Infrastructure have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) infrastructure in Kuwait.
The partnership will focus on creating the infrastructure needed to support future electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft operations, including the development of vertiports and related systems.
Under the agreement, Skyports will work with KNETCO on vertiport development, market opportunities, stakeholder engagement and future commercial projects. The companies will also explore the requirements for establishing a wider AAM ecosystem across Kuwait.
The initiative brings together KNETCO’s expertise in infrastructure and telecommunications with Skyports’ experience in designing and developing vertiports and AAM networks internationally.
The companies recognise that the successful introduction of eVTOL aircraft will require more than the aircraft themselves. Vertiports, communications networks, digital infrastructure, regulatory frameworks and operational systems will all play an important role in supporting commercial AAM services.
Skyports’ experience in the Middle East, including its work on vertiport infrastructure in Dubai, is expected to support the development of potential AAM solutions in Kuwait.
For Kuwait, the partnership represents an early move toward developing an aerial mobility network that could eventually support passenger transportation, cargo delivery and other urban air mobility applications.
The initiative comes as governments and aviation companies across the region investigate how eVTOL aircraft could complement existing transportation networks and provide new options for moving people and goods.
By combining infrastructure development with technology, connectivity and stakeholder engagement, KNETCO and Skyports aim to help establish the foundations for Kuwait’s future Advanced Air Mobility market.
